In May 2024, a German tea brand contacted DST-Pack regarding the production of a premium custom Advent calendar for their company.

The client had previously explored local manufacturing options in Germany, but the quoted production costs were too high, particularly the cost of the die-cutting tooling required for the custom calendar structure.

DST-Pack was able to offer a more competitive manufacturing solution while maintaining the premium quality required for the project.

The final order consisted of 1,000 custom 24-day Advent calendars.

The Challenge

The client was looking for a way to reduce production costs without compromising the quality or appearance of the finished packaging.

German manufacturers had quoted relatively high prices, including significant costs for the custom die-cutting tool.

The Packaging Solution

We produced a 24-compartment folding Advent calendar using a premium construction designed specifically for the project.

The main calendar was manufactured from 400 GSM paperboard, with individual 400 GSM paperboard boxes inside for each tea product.

The structure featured two folding side doors with magnetic closure, creating a premium presentation and a secure closing mechanism.

The exterior was finished with custom printing, gold foil, and matte lamination.

A Competitive Alternative to Local Production

One of the main reasons the client chose DST-Pack was the difference in production costs.

After receiving higher-cost offers from manufacturers in Germany, the client approached DST-Pack to explore an alternative manufacturing solution.

By producing the custom Advent calendar through our manufacturing facilities, we were able to provide more competitive pricing while maintaining premium packaging quality.

Production & Delivery

The project moved into production in June 2024.

After production was completed, the finished Advent calendars were ready for collection in July 2024.

The client arranged direct collection from our factory, allowing the complete order of 1,000 units to be collected directly from the production site.

The Result

DST-Pack successfully produced 1,000 premium 24-day Advent calendars for the German tea brand.

The project provided the client with a cost-effective alternative to local German production while maintaining the required quality, custom structure, and premium finishing.

The final packaging combined 400 GSM paperboard, 24 individual product boxes, magnetic closure, gold foil, and matte lamination.
